As the female founder of JAI-RINGA, my journey into the world of Moringa teas was born from a deep passion and personal fascination with the Miracle Plant—Moringa Oleifera. What began as a simple curiosity soon grew into a heartfelt mission: to bring the incredible health benefits of Moringa to the world, while empowering local communities in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.
Driven by this vision, I joined forces with two friends and established a socially responsible business rooted in the rural community of Kwa Madladla, near Hibberdene in KwaZulu-Natal. Long before “superfoods” became a trend, we were cultivating Moringa with local rural l farmers—planting not just trees, but seeds of hope, sustainability, and empowerment. Though our farming operations were disrupted during the COVID pandemic, and a lack of Government funding for that rural community , our purpose and passion has never wavered. That potential remains open to this day.
Our flagship product, JAI-RINGA Moringa Tea, continued to thrive. Today, we are proud to see it gaining traction across South Africa through the Checkers Shoprite Retailers and attracting international attention, having showcased our range at global trade shows.
At the heart of JAI-RINGA is Moringa Oleifera—a powerhouse of nutrients and antioxidants that continues to astonish the health world. Our mission is to harness the full potential of this superfood by expanding our product range within the food, health, and wellness sectors. We are committed to transforming JAI-RINGA into a globally recognized brand that remains rooted in authenticity, wellness, and social upliftment.
Over the years, we have invested significantly in research and development, and we are now embarking on an exciting five-year expansion plan to grow our footprint both locally and internationally.
One of JAI-RINGA’s proudest achievements has been the support and setup of 10 farming co-operatives in the South Coast region—initiatives that not only create jobs but also foster skills development and community empowerment. These co-ops once fully functional will be vital contributors to our supply chain, cultivating Moringa as an essential ingredient for our ever-growing line of wellness products.
Since producing our first batch of tea in 2014, we have continuously explored innovative ways to bring the benefits of Moringa to a wider audience. Among our proudest innovations is the world’s first Moringa-Rooibos combination tea—a bold, delicious blend that reflects both tradition and modern wellness. As my personal favorite, this tea has become a symbol of our creativity and commitment to health.
In our early years, Moringa was relatively unknown—even within South Africa. Recognizing the need for global exposure, we launched JAI-RINGA at the World Tea Expo in Long Beach, California, on May 29, 2014. Our debut range featured:
